North Texas Youth Development Institute

At HBA it is our goal to have a lasting impact on our community and build a legacy for the future.  Actively participating in helping youth begin to develop their potential is a vital part of fulfilling that goal and our passion so we have founded the North Texas Youth Development Institute. The institute offers youth development programs utilizing a fun learn by doing experiential model along with classroom instruction, interactive games/activities and mentoring.

Core components:

Enrichment – Learning experiences and opportunities to enhance youth lives and expand their knowledge base.

Leadership – Along with personal assessments to aid young people develop self-esteem and confidence additional topics include: leadership attributes & styles, relationship building , communication, planning & organizing, teamwork/group process, and conflict resolution

Public Speaking – Effective communication skills in a variety of situations, impromptu, expository, self-introductions.

Financial Literacy – Understanding how to make money and keep it through proper management, goal setting, and investment.

Entrepreneurship – Education on starting, financing and building a business.

Service – The value of good stewardship; giving personal time and effort to meets the needs of others thus making a positive impact.

Workforce Readiness – Career exploration, resume and interview skills, verbal/non-verbal communication, self-presentation.

Half day and full day conferences

We also offer consulting for start-up or existing community or faith based youth programs in the areas of organizational structure, program development and marketing, staff training/management, or funding options.
